Joe started J.P. Freeman in 1983 when one of his children became seriously ill.

Prior to starting J.P. Freeman, Joe rose through marketing and management assignments as Product Manager, Marketing Manager, General Sales Manager, VP Marketing, General Manager, and COO with Fortune 500 companies. He is married with 4 children, holds B.S., M.B.A., and Sc.D. (doctor of science) degrees, has taught marketing at 3 colleges, and is a U.S. Army veteran. His Sc.D. dissertation on Industrial Policy was instrumental in revising the economic development policy of the state of CT. With his wife he developed a needed CT community health program, he is a monthly columnist in the security press, and a featured speaker at major security trade shows and corporate meetings.
